ArkivDigital is an online subscription service that provides access to newly photographed color images of Swedish historical records. Records on ArkivDigital include the church books from the earliest times in the mid-1600’s to the mid-twentieth century. The church books are a gold mine for tracing one’s Swedish heritage in that the include birth, marriage, death, migration and household examination records which are similar to a yearly census record.

But ArkivDigital is much more than church books. The online archive includes estate inventories, tax registers, court records, passenger ship manifests, military records, published genealogies and much more. The online archive contains more than 52 million images or 104 million pages of historical records. More than 600,000 new images are added monthly. ArkivDigital’s goal is to be the premier site for Swedish genealogical and historical research.
