ST. CHARLES COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
BOOTH #414
BOOTH #414
The St. Charles County Historical Society was founded in 1956 with the purpose of systematically preserving the rich history of St. Charles County. In May 2009, the St. Charles County Genealogical Society merged with the St. Charles County Historical Society. As a result, our mission was expanded to include the preservation of the genealogical records of St. Charles County.
Our Archives are staffed by knowledgeable volunteers who are eager to assist researchers in their quest to find their family history. We have many early city and county records including will, probate, circuit court, and naturalization documents. Volunteers have compiled indexes to marriages, cemetery, and church records, along with early census and obituaries. Several are compiled into books and are available for sale. Be sure to stop by Booth 414 and check out the many books that are available.
Due to fire code and limited space, we are restricted to the number of visitors we can accommodate at one time. Therefore, we are providing a sign-up sheet at our booth to reserve research time for you, with the option to also use our microfilm readers. This allotted time will allow us to assist you more efficiently. Thank you for your cooperation. We have also extended our hours in order to serve you better.
DAILY GIVE-AWAY! Enter the drawing for one of our publications. We will have the number of the winner posted at 3 p.m. daily.
